法式乡间美食,最让人回味的人情温度 Thoughtful French country cuisine made homely @ La Belle Vie

瑟瑟微风甚微凉,穿过欧式复古大门而入后,大人还以为刚通过的是一道任意门,一举将众人从新山送至法国乡村里的特色小酒馆,「La Belle Vie 里的每个角落好像都藏了浪漫的小故事。」

能将馆内布置得如此温馨别致,没有与生俱来的生活审美观应该难以完成眼前此景,一问之下才知这儿的主人正是来自法国,2012年4月1日落户于此后即以其法式乡间之美展现最让人回味的人情温度。待餐时陆续到访的各国饕客众多,主人家像是欢迎在外疲累了一天的家人,嘘寒问暖后再端出了道道法式家常美食抚慰人心。如今的 La Belle Vie,早已名声在外,难怪每一回大人身边的密探们想一解松露披萨与洋葱汤瘾时,总是不假思索拿起车钥匙一路飞奔至此。

Stepping into La Belle Vie in Taman Molek is like visiting a long lost friend at his / her home, with an immediate sense of comfort welcomes us, and our senses were drawn to the aromatic smells wafting from the kitchen.

Along the slew of restaurants and eateries in Taman Molek lies La Belle Vie, a friendly neighbourhood restaurant in true French tradition where we were greeted warmly by the familiar smiling faces of Dominique (Chef et Restaurateur) and the effervescent Shereen (Chef et Restauratrice). Established in April 2012, this once Irish Tavern has been transformed to a French Restaurant and Bar and given a fresh coat of yellow paint for a Provencal touch like its big sister and award-winning restaurant, Chez Papa. No prize for guessing it correct, though…

熟门熟路的饕客,就算形影单只到 La Belle Vie,也无需鼓起多大的勇气与餐点两相望。以前总觉得一个人的晚餐,会是极度寂寞的,宁可匿在屋子里对着电视吃泡面,也不愿将就面对独食的缺憾。直到来到这儿才发现原来吃饭这等无法被亏待的大事,「缺的不是用餐对象,而是被关心的美好感觉。」可不是吗?有时候一家人就算吃着同样的食物却无人关注彼此,话不投机半句多的滋味倒将食物温度都给凉了半截。

La Belle Vie 的厚实木桌上,为你端上晚餐的那双手与老板发自内心的微笑,总能比盘中佳肴还要让人暖心温热。「饱啖美食再与老板下酒配话,就是这里最常见的状态。」

Serving an array of hearty French countryside cuisine with a communal theme, La Belle Vie has a casual and comfortable ambience that is family-friendly and serves as an ideal place for social bonding. In the words of Chef Dominique, there’s something important about coming together for a meal, and the heart and joy of these experiences and memories are in the sharing and serving of food. We could sense the camaraderie of the restaurant upon stepping in and very much endear to Chef Dominique’s proposition.

实木柜子上的渲染星光陪伴着每樽佳酿,长期占据着最适合自己的位置只待知音钦点,颇有「众里寻他千百度,蓦然回首,那“瓶”却在,灯火阑珊处。」

映衬出自然乡村风情的 La Belle Vie 室外区,夜晚在此续摊品酒小酌一番,享受惬意又悠闲的慢活夜晚,特别尽兴。

As the French saying goes, ‘Life is too short to drink bad wine’. Believing in enjoying wine and making merry without our wallet having to suffer, La Belle Vie stocks great wines predominantly from the Old World, with some exotic options from the New World also available in the list.

板子上密密麻麻的字眼皆是 La Belle Vie 每日精选限量美食的代号啊!点餐前,店长会事先简约介绍与解释每一道佳肴的烹调法与食材,接着饕客们能做的就是在芸芸众“美食”中斟酌到底该挑谁啊,「PLATS DU JOUR 原来是法文中每日精选的意思,主厨们会根据餐厅里当日的新鲜食材推出特别餐牌,就连甜点也不例外喔!」

La Belle Vie puts out simple dishes executed with finesse, while their constantly changing “PLATS DU JOUR” (daily specials) chalkboard using the day’s freshest ingredients will keep us coming back for more. After all, “La vie est belle” (life is beautiful), isn’t it?

鲜虾意大利面 Spaghetti Aux Crevettes Aglio Olio

从厨房里热烘烘端出的这道鲜虾意大利面 (Spaghetti Aux Crevettes Aglio Olio, RM58) 可说是店里令人感觉幸福的招牌美食啊,浓虾香气以凡走过必留下痕迹的路线驻留该处,沿途诱惑了不少饕客。「与手掌一般大的鲜虾,香气逼人啊!这法式平底锅不轻,面条摆在里头颇有保温之效。清香微辣的面条油脂充足、软乎有劲道,咀嚼时依稀可尝出虾卵滋味。」

The Spaghetti Aux Crevettes Aglio Olio was an entirely satisfying experience to begin our meal, with generous amounts of fresh succulent prawns mixed with the earthy fragrance of olive oil and adequate dashes of coarse pepper, which is a delight to consume.

松露披萨 Pizza Aux Truffes

对松露滋味情有独钟的大人怎么可能会错过这道松露披萨 (Truffle Pizza, RM48)?看似只有3毫米的薄脆饼皮毫不油腻,浓醇咸香适口宜人,原来也是店家最不可忽视的当家必点,一上桌后果真没能久留啊!「La Belle Vie 的松露披萨绝对是啤酒的好搭档!」

The Pizza Aux Truffes is one of the signature dishes on the menu, and we simply had to try it. The whiff of truffle oil immediately whet our appetites and prepare us for the earthy flavour. At what appears to be 3mm wafer-thin, one slice might seem little, but we assure you this was plenty for the size was pretty big but nevertheless, irresistible as our plates were polished in no time at all!

纽西兰羊架 Carre D’ Agneau

弹嫩多汁、无扰人羊腥羶的纽西兰羊架 (Carre D’ Agneau, RM70) 原始香味让人欲罢不能。「酱料并没有喧宾夺主抢走羊肉的风头,轻轻用手一撕即骨肉分离,混搭着薯泥一块儿入口,出乎意料合拍。」

Made from a time-honoured recipe, the lamb was carefully marinated and grilled until pink and served with an aromatic rosemary and mint sauce and the accompanying ratatouille. It was so good that we had to clean the rack of any shred of meat!

 香煎猪扒 Escalopes De Porc

外型居家的香煎猪扒 (Escalopes De Porc, RM48) 真的好有妈妈的味道,「微微调味过的薄片猪扒皮衣酥脆,肉质油润细软,蘸上些许芥末酱可适当解腻。以番茄、培根酱拌意大利面为辅,酸甜可口饱腹感十足。」可别小觑其朴实外观,据说循香跟随此道佳肴的饕客粉丝众多!

Pork chops can easily be overcooked, but thankfully, when we cut through our pieces of Escalopes De Porc, the meat inside was still moist and tender. Oh, we sure enjoyed the spaghetti and garden salad relish on the side too. And yes, could we have fries to go along, please?

黑胡椒肋眼牛排 Steak Au Poivres

La Belle Vie 的摆盘并非以华丽精致取胜,瞧瞧这道五分熟的黑胡椒肋眼牛排 (Steak Au Poivres, RM72) 即可略知一二,味道才是他们家最重视的环节。「淡淡的胡椒味藏身於微稠的牛肉原汁中,刀具一下后自是无法抵抗外皮微焦香、软嫩多汁的肉心口感,咀嚼时还能感受油脂融入其中呢!」

Served medium rare, the Steak Au Poivres was incredibly tender and well seasoned. Draped with black pepper sauce, the taste and texture were both luscious to the palate, and we especially love the pepper flavour which was exuded in delightful bursts, along with the delectable chews of the springy steak texture which is up to par. Even though the beef was the star of the show, we couldn’t stop munching on the homemade mash served on the side. This rustic dish is certainly calling out to all you beef lovers out there!
