士姑来五福城贵为城中西北美食战区,餐饮种类多如繁星,在此觅食不难,要摘星择己所爱难度才高啊!

每回开车途经此处,看官们是否与大人感同身受:总觉得各店家正使出浑身解数召唤入场。这个午后,大人再次驶过战区,瞧见名为 De House 於入口处摆放了色彩艳丽的汽球拱桥,「噢~原来是前身名为 Crab House 的店家此刻正大举将美食进行改版!且让大人入内瞧瞧再来通报看官们吧!」

Once a sleepy residential enclave for the local community, many would agree that Sutera Utama is now a thriving suburb that’s peppered with charming boutiques, watering holes, hipster cafes and fancy restaurants. In our regular “find dining” missions to sniff out the latest and greatest catch in town, we stumbled upon a new eatery that looked vaguely familiar. Little did we realised that one of the best-kept secrets in town that specialises in Cajun-styled seafood catch is now serving premium surf and turf dishes as well…

全新出击的 De House 全室以美国国旗色彩为基调,巧搭些许工业风味家饰,不经意流露的西式餐饮氛围让大人对刚点选的美食满心期待啊!环顾四周最吸人眼球的莫过于墙上那幅巨型黑白壁照,原来是店家与各城中著名博客与饕客们的留影与剪报!据负责人透露,刚於11月28日改版的美食名单中加入了更多直捣饕客味蕾、以猪肉及海鲜为主的海陆套餐 (注:店内并无牛肉料理),而且… 陆续有来!

With a sudden craving for succulent lobsters and our favourite cut of the hog, we seemed to be getting both in this revamped restaurant amidst an industrial-chic ambience but with highly modest table settings and bright red chairs for that American vibe. With a collage of photographs with notable bloggers and personalities speaking volumes about the quality of their menu, De House is set to add more carnivorous and other delectable options in moving away from its predecessor – Crab House.

海陆双拼 Pork Belly Surf & Turf

这道卖相奇佳的海陆拼盘 (Pork Belly Surf & Turf, RM39.90) 一上桌即引口腹之欲,大人挺不过味觉的挣扎当然立刻拿起刀具,「瞧瞧这腌渍入味的五花肉,这可是以真空低温烹调了10个小时的美味成果!肥瘦参半的肉质弹牙腴甜,再搭微酸多汁的樱桃番茄,轻咬下后的爆浆稍微解腻只为了再尝那扎实鲜甜的煎虾!」这目测长达50公分的餐盘里还摆着以白酒烹调的海蚌、自制绵密薯泥、西兰花及椰菜花。汆烫后的食蔬爽脆度恰好,粗菜细作毫无生涩滋味,反而有一丝被上汤临幸过的清甜。

For lovers of crustaceans, molluscs and all things “porky”, this Pork Belly Surf & Turf is a Western-inspired veritable feast that will satiate all our seafood and meat cravings all at once. Since seafood here is supposed to be the main highlight, that was what we started with. The prawns and mussels here were really fresh and succulent and cooked in wine sauce for this full-bodied sweetness and perfect meat texture.

If you are tired of handling all the crustaceans, pop a lightly garnished cherry tomato as an alternative palate cleanser to help balance out the saltiness from the seafood before turning your attention to the meat. It wouldn’t be too much of an exaggeration to say that this pork is one of the better ones we have had so far – achingly tender sous-vide belly for 10 hours, both fatty & fleshy. Overall, the dish is more than just eye candy with all its warm, earthy flavours, it is genuinely delicious, which is just how comfort food should be.

芝士烤龙虾 Lobster Thermidor

「哇!这龙虾肉怎么这么Q弹?」原来店家为了保留这芝士烤龙虾龙虾 (Lobster Thermidor, RM98) 的爽脆弹牙口感,特将龙虾先经热油速炸后再铺上 Parmesan、Mozarella 干酪与美乃滋烤炙。龙虾肉与干酪交融后的咸香滋味真叫人无法抵挡,「才一眨眼就只剩下靓丽依旧的龙虾壳!」

None of us knows what to expect with this whole lobster and its claws when it was served, but we all loved it. Originally a French dish served primarily for special occasions, most Thermidor recipes yield something that tastes stodgy and heavy, but this version at De House is almost sleek. By first searing the lobster meat and then tops it off with Parmesan, Mozzarella and honey mayo, the flesh simply tastes more luxurious. Yes, this is true decadence, folks.

火炙猪扒 Flaming Home Marinated Pork Chops

为保鲜嫩肉质,店家选择先以真空低温慢煮处理这道火炙猪扒 (Flaming Home Marinated Pork Chops, RM24.90)。肥瘦相间的猪扒经过香烤后,上桌前再浇上白酒火炙,「立刻就闻到了酒香!」虽以香料腌制却不显厚重,与略带苦酸的黄芥末酱相互调味后足以达致味平衡。

Marinated in spices and slow cooked for hours, char-grilled, lightly basted with flaming white wine, the Flaming Home Marinated Pork Chop is enjoyable from the first bite to the final chew, from the irresistibly glazed skin to the irreproachably juicy flesh, blanketed with honey mustard spiciness and flavour. For a dish that looks somewhat ordinary, this packs such surprising depth and quality that we will look to order for our subsequent visits.

烤猪背肋排 Baby Back Ribs (Spanish Pork)

以君度橙酒火炙排场上桌的烤猪背肋排 (Baby Back Ribs – Spanish Pork, RM89.90) 份量好巨大,难怪餐谱上特别注明了这是双人份。经红椒粉及各式香料腌制的猪背肋排,再以真空低温慢烹了4小时后涂抹上烧烤酱,「大人之前尝过的猪肋排皆较甜,De House 的版本则将甜度调降,搭以份量慷慨的食蔬,要嗑光绝不是问题!」

This hugely appetising slab of Baby Back Ribs was first seasoned with herbs and done sous vide for 4 hours until the meat is fork-tender, then slathered with homemade BBQ sauce and flame-grilled with Orange Cointreau to make it smoky-sweet. Not surprisingly, the Spanish Pork was delicious on its own, and we couldn’t resist the sweet caramelised and slightly tart flavours of the pork ribs which were evenly glazed. The dish was made even better by an excellent supporting cast of delicious cauliflower, broccoli and salad leaves, that we have got to thank the chefs for elevating something so simple into such a sublime dish.

雪糕啫喱 Ice Cream Jello

这杯从远处看,还以为是雪糕漂浮在半空的雪糕啫喱 (Ice Cream Jello, RM6.90) 不愧是品尝太多肉食后的救星啊!「介于软硬之间的啫喱为草莓雪糕巧添口感,搭上酸酸甜甜的桃子、草莓与蓝莓刺激胃液,大人刚刚的饱腹感终于被镇住了!」

啃肉族与海鲜迷们,接下来时长两个月的佳节怎能不手握些美味名单、解馋法宝傍身呢?在尚未与亲爱的家人朋友团聚前,「不妨先让舌尖与腹围来个美味大团圆吧!😄  」

We rounded off our feast with the Ice Cream Jello, a great pick-me-up dessert especially on sweltering hot days. At a value-for-money pricing, this mouthwatering indulgence contained delightfully smooth jello, a generous scoop of strawberry cream topped with a slice of fresh peach and berries that harmoniously ties in the all sweet and sour flavour components of the dessert together, and helped wash down the heavy meal we had prior to desserts.

Both crustacean and meat lovers will love De House even more with this delicious spread of ocean-fresh seafood and artisanal cuts where patrons can have the best of both worlds.
